Attachments |
Attachments are files that can be sent with an email like an enclosure with a letter. The files can be anything from a word processor document to a drawing.
Use the 'Attachment' button in the 'Compose new message' window, then follow the instructions. Use the 'Browse' button to locate the file on your hard drive.
File size affects the speed of transfer, so using a compression utility such as Win Zip, can help. It also allows several files to be sent in one archive file, retaining directory structure.

Hot links |
If there's an interesting page on a web site that you would like to refer someone to, type in (or cut and paste) the URL (or web address) in the body of your message in the form http://www.hartley2.co.uk/team.htm , leaving a clear word space at each end of the address, and the email software will automatically convert this to a hot link. The recipient of the email can then simply click on it to go straight to the page.
This is useful to point a customer, say, to a new page on your own web site or a 'who's who' page, or a map of how to reach your premises, or ......

Email address 'Groups' |
Groups of email addresses can be constructed in your address book to bulk-mail the same message to several people at once, for instance, notifying customers of new pages, price changes, etc.
